Alaric Searle is Professor of Modern European History, University of Salford, UK. He holds MA and MPhil degrees from the University of Edinburgh, a PhD from the Free University Berlin and a Habilitation from the University of Munich. He has published widely in the field of British and German military history; from 2007-2019 he was a member of the Executive Committee of the German Military History Society.
